Setelah Canon mengumumkan Canon D50 kini giliran Nikon tidak mau ketinggalan untuk memamerkan produk barunya di jajaran mid class DSLR yang memang benar dilengkapi dengan perekam movie. Berikut ringkasan featurenya saya ambil di http://www.nikon.com/about/news/2008/0827_d90_01.htm

dibanding dengan seri sebelumnya (D80) tentunya ada peningkatannya dan tidak mungkin suatu merk terkenal mengeluarkan produk baru tidak memiliki keunggulan dibanding seri-seri sebelumnya yang sekelas.
Perbedaann yang paling kentara adalah terletak pada sensornya yaitu pada D90 sekarang menggunakan sensor CMOS dengan resolusi 12.3MP sedangkan D80 masih menggunakan sensor CCD 10.2MP (dan sepertinya Nikon juga benar-benar beralih ke sensor CMOS). Sedangkan ukuran, berat dan bentuk katanya hampir sama. Berikut perdaannya antara D90 dengan D80:
- Sensor 12.3 MP CMOS (D80: 10.2 MP CCD)
- Dust removal system
- Layar yang lebih besar dan lebih baik (sama seperti D3, D300) -> 920,000 pixel TFT (RGB x 3 colors)
- Live View
- Movie Mode (24 fps) dengan pilihan resolusi 1280×720 (16:9), 640×424 (3:2), dan 320×216 (3:2), ini bisa digunakan untuk membuat film (DLSR pertama yang memiliki feature ini!)
- ISO: 200-3200, Lo-1=100, Hi-1=6400. upgraded AF system (3D tracking, face detection)
- Active D-Lighting, vignetting control and extra retouching options
- Picture Control presets
- Continuous shooting yang telah ditinggkatkan menjadi 4.5 fps
- Sudah ada Pictmotion slideshow

keknya perlu tambah sensor cleaning…..di D80 belum ada sensor cleaning…….
